     Torpor. When I first began to learn about keeping bees, this word jumped out at me. Torpor: Noun. A state of physical or mental inactivity; lethargy. For my bees it means they have gone quiet. They are all clustered around the queen staying warm and conserving as much energy as possible until the days become longer and warmer and they can once again venture out and do the work they are compelled to do.      For me, the word is exactly as defined. I slow down this time of year, mentally and physically. The holiday rush is over, or nearly so, and my body tells me to rein it in; take a rest. My mind, though, is ever...
